Coilover install

I've never installed coilovers myself but have done springs and struts/shocks a number of times. How is it different? Can I do coilovers if I can do springs?

Don't have a set yet, just asking. It seemed easier looking at a DIY because of not having to compress and remove the springs.

i'm also in the same boat as you BB. i'm waiting for my coils to come hopefully next week and i'll be installing them myself. i've only done coilover once in my e46. pretty simple actually. i think the infiniti is much easier although i never done coils on this car yet.

I had Tein Flex on my is 300 .. They had lots of noise and other issues.. Tanabe Sustec Pro Seven on my Z and loved them.. I have Megan Racing on my G and no problems .. No noise great performance and a price tag of only $800.00 .. Cant beat that !!!

Like everyone said it is pretty straight forward because the springs come preloaded. Then just some patience with getting them the right height and stiffness.

Ya J, you can. If you have a lift, that'll help big time. Air gun too.

We did my car on jack stands with a floor jack. We did have an air gun, so that helps taking out the large bolts in the front and back. Me and my friend did it in about 2 hours or so, and that was with adjusting the height a few times too.

I installed a set of BC Coilovers on my G this weekend. It took me by myself (while drinking beer) about 3 hours. I did my install on jack stands but if you have access to a lift and another person to help, it's easily a 2 hour job. (minus the beer) lol.

I have a thread about it and am gonna post the pics today or tomorrow.

All i have to do now is readjust the ride height again and I'm done. I love the first few months of driving on new coilovers as opposed to the factory garbage. It's like having a new girlfriend, you know what i mean..LOL

I know exactly what you mean. You can ride the shizzit out of them and then if you dont like the ride you can tighten it up! Wait, no......nevermind.
