KW Variant 3 Coilover System w/SPC Rear Camber Kit -- PICS!
Sorry for the delay in getting this up. I wanted to get my alignment done and have a some solid time to get a feel of the coilovers before posting my review...
I picked up my KWs from Andy@HPA. HPA shipped these out quickly and despite a holiday, I still got them in just time. At the same time, I purchased 2 new rear tires from Forged Performance. Sharif and Ryan pulled some string to get them in time for my install. As expected Forged Performance did the install of my KWs, SPC Rear Camber Kit, and tires. Excellent job and service.
Adjustability: As you would expect with any coilover system, they are very adjustable in terms of height and "stiffness". I left the settings dialed in at the same as they are in the box in terms of stiffness which is more of a comfort setting. In terms of height, I did have Forged adjust my height significantly lower.
My Settings: Currently I'm riding on the "comfort" out of the box stiffness setting. In terms of height, I'm at about 25.5 in from ground to fender. Pretty slammed, but I love the looks and was amazed that comfort was not compromised.
Handling: Although I'm currently running my coilovers at the soft setting designed for comfort the improvement in handling over stock and my old Tein H-Tech springs. The handling is amazing. I can't imagine how the car may handle after I adjust the stiffness because it already handles amazing. While some people say coilovers are overkill unless you are tracking, I will have to disagree. The improvement is noticable in normal driving. The car is very responsive yet not over responsive. It a good balance. I haven't noticed any body roll and the car sticks to corners. Very Impressive!!! While the G37 tends to have a bit more understeer, I feel a significant improvement in this area. The car feel more predictable and in line when cornering.
Alignment Considerations: As with any suspension modification, I recommend an alignment. With my settings, I did install the SPC Rear Camber Kit to correct the excessive negative camber that comes with lowering the ride height of the car. With this, I was able to get my rear camber to a manageable amount. My rear camber is currently at -2.1 but I can straighten it up more, however, I kept it this way to work well with the specs on the front. As I did decide to go quite low, my negative camber in the front is now excessive. I'm at about -2.6 in the front. Once SPC release the front kit, I'll be installing that.
Now for some pics of my G37 on KW Variant 3 Coilovers, but before a leave you with pics, a special thanks goes out to the following individuals...

Thanks for the compliments guys! Appreciate it. I absolutely love the KWs.
I'll be honest, I never liked slammed cars and I wouldn't necessarily call myself slammed. I've seen lower. It grew on me though while only had H-Tech springs before and when Forged asked me how low I wanted to go, I figured I'd go out on a limb and go low since I knew I could adjust them.
I like it now.
