Suspension Suggestion

Suspension Suggestion
Hi Guys,
Had my car for a week, and already the mod bug's biting. I am thinking to start out w/ suspension. I was thinking of spring / strut combo and some sway bars. After researching this forum, I am a little confused.
Seems like most people on this forum either have only springs w/o struts, or went with the coil-overs. From my past experience with cars (Hondas and Evo), the general rule of thumb is that if you don't track your car and only use it for daily driving (my usage of the G), then springs / struts combo should be the way to go. I think it is probably due to the lack of aftermarket parts (very few springs and no struts from what I have seen) and people basically going for looks. But I don't think it is very cost effective to go for coil-overs just so you can adjust the height of your car and not really getting all of the performance gains out of it.
So is there really currently no struts available for the G37s? I am not looking for more than 1.5 in drop (daily driving, don't want to kill my tires etc.), but I am going to get struts even for minimal lowering, due having had a bad experience with just springs before. However, even just springs it seems limited selection currently. Eibach prokits coming out in mid sept, H&R having a 2 inch drop though they claim only 1. Tanabe seems to be the only selection currently. And I do not feel comfortable with putting G35 Tein HTechs on.
Now BC coils seems pretty cost effective ($1g, compared to the springs / struts combo of ~$700) if i do get convinced to go down the coil-overs route, but I have never had experience with them before. How are they compared to the JIC prototype and the KW V3? JIC will prob be $1800 and the KW V3 are around $2300, so if the BCs are good for my purpose, I will go with them.
I know my situation is probably the same as the majority of people on this forum, so hopefully we can get some good inputs as many people are probably wondering about it.
Thanks in advance!!!!

Touchy topic here for some,
if you have the $$$, get some JIC or KW
BC has some rattle issues but people seem to enjoy them.
Megan Coil Overs may be something else you might want to look in to if you don't want to spend too much on coils...
Springs if you were to go with them, get the H-techs perfect 1 inch drop. Alot of members have them and love it. Tanabe gives a good drop in back but the front is barely dropped.
H&R- I had them, and they are the lowest, same goes with S-techs
Eibach- dont get started on that ! LOL
all in all, if you have money to drop my advice is to get KW or JIC I SUGGEST YOU CONTACT LOU AT AMPD MOTORSPORTS AS HE HAS BOTH IN STOCK goodluck!

Also check out the Modding 411 section for more...there is the Gt-Spec Strut bar being sold that seems pretty popular
BTW sway bars are limited right now as Stillen are the only ones out, but Cusco and another company I believe are coming out before the summer ends..

Thanks for the reply sTiLLBaLLiN37.
I thought the JICs are not out yet are they? They are not even taking pre-orders yet. According to the prototype thread.
KWs i have heard not so good things about them as a product line from my previous experiences.
Maybe I should just save and save and wait until more parts are out for our cars.

Cusco are coming out soon, but however warranty is important too, so look in to that.
JIC is coming out in august, sorry, a vendor here had the prototypes thats why I thought it was out.
JIC and KW are the first major coil over companies hitting the market, so if I were you get one of those or wait for Tein or Cusco.

I agree coils can be over kill if not tracking but by the time you buy springs and struts, you are almost paying the same as some of the cheaper coils. I have BC's with no issues and love them but like StillBallin says that is not the case for everyone. I also have Stillen sways on my car. Definitely feel a difference with them. May car hugs like nobodys business.
Megan and BC are manufactured by the same company.

What is special about Cusco that might void warranty as oppose to other
brands.
Thanks for the input guys!

If I were you, get coil overs with the best warranty.
BC- Rattle issues that havent been solved yet
Megan- Like Kidcane mentioned is manufactured by the same company
Cusco- Coming out soon, but if you have a problem you got to ship it out to Japan
KW- If you have a problem you got to ship it out to Germany.
JIC- Located in So. Cal
Heard great things about JIC from fellow members here but the warranty is key to me and that's what JIC provides and it is local, so that may sway me towards JIC over my beloved KW's....

I love my JIC coils!!! I wasn't planning to get coils this soon, but after meeting the owner and seeing his work on his car and seeing how much he is into his company and the work they do it was easy to pull the trigger. I had Tein coils on my G35 and the JIC-Magic coils feel better.
I didn't plan to track track my G37 since I just got tanabe springs a few months ago, but having the JIC's inspired me to track the car soon. It feels almost like a different car now. I feel that these coils are the next best mod to going FI.

It's all good. You're gonna have plenty of choices when you get your coils.
The only thing I need to do right now is to throw some 275's in the rear. I take turns really hard now, and there's no roll what so ever, but the back end just wants to kick out.
