Stock Brakes making lots of noise

BTW: A search for this issue came up short.

Like many others I am coming up on 1 year of ownership (Sept). The car only has 6,600 miles on it (no hard driving/braking) but for the past 3 weeks my brakes have been making lots of noise. Basically squeaking noises. This is only occuring in the morning or at the end of the day.

Anyone else experiencing anything similar.

mine's make the slightest squeak when the brakes are cold...usually when i take it out for a spin in the morning or early afternoon, but once its warmed up, which doesnt take long, theres no more squeak sound

Dr,

Be certain to take a quick look at your rotors each time you are about to drive. In our climate you know that the rotors get a light coating of rust almost every day from the showers or humidity. Is it just the rust being worn off when you first apply the brakes a few times after driving or is it all the time? I notice this more as a slight grinding noise until the rust us off rather than a squeak.

Jeremy.... now that you mention it. My parking garage is pretty dusty and that is most likely the culprit because after they get heated there is no more noise.

We missed you at the last meet.... How are the new springs working for ya?

I noticed my brakes make noise when they're cold (eg I haven't driven the car yet that day) & as I'm reversing out of my garage (if it's the 1st time I've drive the car that day). My garage is dusty. Rest of the time there's no abnormal noise.

You guys think it's just the dust? The dealer I trust is kind of far, I don't wanna waste a day if it's just dust (I will bring up the issue with my next oil change). If it's a big deal, then I'll bring it in sooner.

A few people say that most BBKs will make this type of noise.

mine started 10,000 and it makes noise all the time (i think). I say I think because i could only hear it whne the windows are down and when I am applying 2/3 of breaking. When I hit full break it wouldnt make a noise.

BTW i went to dealership to see whats going on for 3 times. They said its normal and on my second time they even cleaned the pads and rotors. On my third time was my 15,000 check up. During this time they cleaned again and even measured the thickness of the pad and they were pretty new still. 8mm

I was running late and missed you guys. Next time it's indoors where its not 100 degrees. The springs are awesome! They've settled really nicely and I'm satisfied with the drop in front and rear.

Its likely jut the rust that forms almost every day wearing off. It'll be fine.

I'm @ 23k and my brakes does squeak when I'm coming to a stop. Especially within the first 15 minutes. After that it comes and goes. Reversing will definitely squeak.
