For either coupe or sedan, yes you have to remove the rear seat which is actually quite easy. Pull the bottom seat cushion forward, you'll see a couple of bolts to remove the backside. The top of the strut towers will then be visible.
Not sure on the coupe, but on the sedan you do have to drill a hole on the top of the strut tower. If the hole is small then you run the extender through it. If you do a big hole, you can forgo the extender and just adjust the **** directly with you fingers.
On the coupe, you can route the extender to the trunk if you so desire.
On the sedan, the extenders aren't long enough to do that (at least when i tested it, you can extend it yourself, here's my DIY.)
All that said, i believe all the new BC rears have the adjustment **** on the side of the strut body, accessibly from the wheel well.

Good thing is Nissan/Infiniti used this rear design on all the G/Z platforms, Altima, M35/45, Fx's and so on. With the video it will show how to properly load up the springs.
As for the convertible we are working on getting more info on the vehicle. Any chances of you coming to Zrun?
