springs squeeking?

Hey everyone. I just got some 20' iforged wheels on yesterday. I also dropped on g35 tein h-techs. today i noticed squeeking on the front left spring. why is it squeeking? it happens when i go over bumps. my tire size in the front is 245/35/20. i dont think its rubbing. what can it possibly be? should i be worried?

Could it be just the spring settling?

Did you put the wheels on yourself or did a shop do it?

It could really be just the spring then. I would say give it a few days to see if the squeaking goes down.

A tip I learned from Eibach ... the end of the spring coil is most likely pushed into the pocket of the bushing. There should be about .25" gap to allow the spring to move without binding.

Hmm, there really should not be any noise. I had a little sqwaking sound coming from my left front after I put my coils on and that was from the endlink on my sways not being tightened all the way. I had to take the wheel off and tighten it down, not one sound since then.

In the past I've always wrapped the bottom 2 to 3 coils of springs I've installed to keep them from making noise if they are compressed to the point of the coils rubbing each other. That could possibly be your culprit if the noise only occurs when the springs compress a lot.

What did you wrap them with?

Some springs will come with wrap for them; most won't. Buy some spiral cable wrap at Radio Shack for $4.

I'd try this first; it may cure the problem. You should be able to do it without removing them, but I've always done it prior to install. If it doesn't your only out of $4 and half an hour of your time.
