G37 Brake Fade when tracking?
Hello everyone!
i have a G35 Coupe was looking into getting a BBK. One of the offerings is the G37 Akebono kit and was wondering how well it resists fade during a track day, be it autoX or a road course. comparable to brembos? low end stoptech, ap racing... etc?
Thanks for the input!

iv driven my car pretty hard in the canyons and the brake fade was not to bad but doubt it would match up with some of the stop tech and AP racing brakes...

i have done autox's and track days and after a few flying laps fade is noticeable. not horrible but could be reduced a lot. if your planning on upgrading i wouldnt upgrade to these. spend the extra money and get yourself a better system. The track days were enough for me to switch up. I am having brembo fab up custom brackets to install their 6 pot kit on right now. ETA is 6 weeks out on finally install...

I got these G37S Akebono BBK on my sedan, and so far I've never experienced any fading issue.
Well, I went for a canyon run today and I was actually amazed on how well the BBK grabbed my car. Although the brake got really hot, there was no fading at all. I'm still looking for a company to make some cross-drilled or slotted rotors and SS brake line for this BBK.

I heading to a road course in a few months with some friends and i'm gonna do a basic upgrade before then:
Hawk HP Plus
Brembo Blanks
SS lines
ATE Super Blue
Then, I'm probably going to save up and get a nice used BBK from someone if I get bit by the auto-x/road course bug.
GAAHH... stupid, expensive, hobby...
thanks for all the input! i really appreciate it!

brembo has no kit at this time for the 37. if you have the non sport then you might be able to use the 4pot kit as the mounting points are suppose to be the same as the 07 down. I am in the works with them now designing the 6pot. once that is done they will fabricate the brackets for the smaller 4 pot

A while back i talked to them and they said that they had 2 kits that would work... but they needed to measure to make sure they worked... I just figured by now they had some one cause he told me 4-6wks...I just didnt wanna drop 25xx at the time for it...
but one kit was 14in and once was 15in...
