Why doesnt the 2008 G37 Come with Brembos anymore?

Akebono has been around for longer than Brembo, it's just that they've only recently come around to North America in the last 20 years. Brembo is probably more well known, since it's an Italian company with uses on all the high end exotics made there.

All the above is true, however, Brembos have been used on the 350Z Track, Anniversary, Grand Sport and now the Nismo 350Z Model. Brembo has been and still is Nissan's sporting brake on the 350Z. They have not gone to the Akebonos.
As far as age, Brembo was founded in 1961, Akebono in 1929, opened US operations in 1980.

how much do you actaully save?@?@? not taht much..lol..id rather haave a brembo set up..but i guess akebunkhunkabunka will do...hell tehy are 14" and 13.8" works for me...i just hope they offer same stopping reliability or better then brembo..i mean on the test videos on the track say they stop ebtter with less fade then the brembos...i jsut cant wait for rotora to come out with a 15" kit upgrade package...jsut by replacing the rotors...or jsut a sick @$$ cross drilled slotted set up...

there were two reasons the brembo's were dropped from the G. First was as mentioned above cost of replacement. second was brake noise and brake dust. everyone complained thats the brembos made a lot of noise and created a large amount of brake dust. So they figured the people who were buying G's cared more about quiet and clean brakes over more track oreinted brakes. the reality is for the street the sport brakes are more then enough. in fact for a noob track day person they will probably also be more then enough. they dont show much fade and stopping power is good. Upgrading the brake system weather it be pads, rotors, or a complete replacement set is a complete waste of money unless you do serious track days. you will never get the full potential out of any of the items on the street. you wont be doing enough hard, high speed, repetitive stops on the street to heat the brakes up enough to justify slotted/holed rotors. those items dont make the car stop better. they just help in cooling the brakes keeping them from fading with repeated stops. if you do plan on buying rotors only buy slotted. you do not want these cheap after market drilled rotors. when a rotor is drilled with holes it compromises the strength of the rotors by causing tiny hair line cracks by each drill point. all high end systems with holes are cast not drilled meaning when the rotor is casted in a mold the holes are put in during the casting process which means no drilling and no cracks....
