Sunroof leak
I have the infamous sunroof drain leak(front passenger side). Instead of fixing it at the exit drain which seems to be a PIA, can I do something to seal the sunroof so water doesn't even get to the drains in the first place? Shouldn't a properly sealed sunroof not let any water in? Can the seals re replaced or modified to create a tighter seal? What about adding some type of weather stripping to create a tighter seal? Any ideas would be appreciated.

There is no sunroof anywhere that is 100% water tight. This is why the roof has a drain pan/ drainage tubes. No matter how tight the rubber seal on the glass may be, sitting water will always find a path through.
Now, if you never open the roof, and there is zero chance you will ever open it, then you can look into permanently sealing your sunroof. There are a few methods from using silicone sealant to liquid urethane to form a permanent seal. How effective they are I don't know.
The best course is to repair the drains and go from there. Whether you choose to bypass the grommets (my recommendation), replace them, or permanently seal the glass panel, the repair will likely last for at least as long as you own the car. But, your car, your wallet, your decision. Maybe other members will have other suggestions/ ideas...

In my case, I had a clog of sunroof drain that goes rear of the car (g37 sedan). This was easier to see and unclog it. I would recommend that you also check (inside the truck, and check there too)

If you don’t use it you can try to seal it with silicone or something but that will look like crap unless you’re some kind of artist. New seals will do very little, the sunroof is designed to allow water entry, hence the drains, clear them out and keep them clean. I run washer fluid through mine periodically to keep them clean since it will break down the crap in the drains.
