G37 ambient door lighting

Hey guys, this is my second post on here so don't stone me if I'm not posting this on the right Thread, but regardless. I recently got flexed on hard as hell by my plug, he had gotten an E300 with the nice ambient lights. Me being me was like "ahhhhhhhh I can do that to my car if I wanted" which he replied and said "bet you a Eighter you can do the interior lights look like mine". So the bet was on , I looked everywhere (maybe not hard enough) for ambient lighting on a G but all I came up with was floor lights and that wasn't going to cut it. The ambient lighting was around $35 off eBay with Bluetooth Controller, the install took me around 3 hours with everything tucked and flushed , I T'd off the cigarette thing in the ash tray with some cheap taps and made the cables come out from the bottom of the center console. If y'all are interested enough I can do a DIY on it and fix up the mistakes I did during the first install.

Thank you for your time

Ps.... ended up getting my Eighter😂

That's pretty interesting looking. How stick-on does it look in the daylight?

I had to urban dictionary your plug reference, LOL. That was a new one for me.

You know what.....that looks a lot better than I thought it would. Nice work man. I'd be interested in seeing a DIY for it.

Looks awesome! My GTI had ambient door lighting from the factory, I thought it was snazzy.

Also, I like the looks of this. White piping tied to the overhead lights to come on when the doors open would be very subtly cool.

This got derailed, and a bunch of comments deleted in deference to thin skin.

Carry on, OP. People are waiting on your details.

Hey guys, sorry for the excessive paraphernalia talk. I attached some pics of how they look on in daylight, mind that I've turned the brightness down so at night it matches the brightness on the radio trim.

I will be doing a DIY on it, most likely posting it on YouTube so it's easier for y'all to follow along.
Planning on doing the dash part too.

It would be a good idea to carry it all the way to the dash trims for the complete look. The color looks on point and if you can adjust the brightness it's perfect.

Also it looks blue in the night time pics, but purple in the daytime pics. What color is it?
