It should be however depending the brand of paint it might change the flake content. Ex: House of Color/Dupont brand KAD will be on another level than NASON paint.

So after battling with the the clips to remove the projector lens I finally got it out to replace with the clear lens from the after market lights I got to source the main plastic lense covers from. I put it back in aaaannnd it doesn’t fit. It doesn’t drop in and it sticks out further so the shroud won’t go back. I guess it’s oem lenses for me since I don’t have time to order tsx-r lenses. Frustrating…

Now that is a sharp looking headlamp. Deserves a 🍺 with a shot of rum, lol.

Good work dude, seriously.

Thanks @ILM-NC G37S ☺️. No crazy RGB crap, no angel eyes, none of that gaudy stuff. Just color matched housings and shrouds, brand new crystal clear lenses/covers, 6000k bulbs and a halo behind the shroud so it illuminates through the holes and slots (why infiniti has these sick shrouds that light should shine through but doesn’t is beyond me). Only other thing I’m trying to do is wire a led strip inside the reflector but that’s becoming more difficult than I imagined. I can’t find a good led strip that’s narrow enough to go up high enough and can curve with the reflector. They bend easily but they don’t curve easily. We’ll see if I can figure it out before I need to get the lights back to body shop for install.

I will say painting the the clear cover that goes over the turn signal reflector bowl really helps tone down the amount of chrome to a tolerable level.

Seriously, it looks sharp. I'm not a fan of all those gimmicky/gaudy lighting effects that some prefer. I'm too old for that nonsense but to each their own...

Subliminally, you're giving me mild inspiration to get mine done... though with my level of patience I guarantee they'd end up in the trash first... lol.

Eagerly anticipating a few night shots when completed/ installed.

I completely agree. Honestly, it’s very easy to do what I did. Bake headlights and lenses come off super easy. (Pro tip, 13 minutes at 250 and they’ll come off like butter, most posts underestimate the time and temp which makes it hard). Unscrew the various internal pieces and separate them. Take them the corner of your patio and spray easy off oven cleaner on them to strip them down to bare plastic. Take the parts to a local body shop for paint. Buy 90mm halos for $8 on Amazon. 2 dabs of glue on the bracket around the projector and adhere. The shroud will fit back perfectly over the halo. Splice the two wires for the halo into the 2 wires for the city lamp. Buy the moromito butyl on Amazon and re-seal.

I mean that’s it. It’s actually hard to screw it up. It’s a pretty easy project to be honest if your just doing what I did. I’d say 2.5/10 difficulty). The only reason I’m not “done” yet is you want to wait as long as possible after painting before you re-seal b/c the paint will emit gas for a few days and if you seal them in right after they are dry to touch, it will cloud.

Total time to do what I did is less than about 90 minutes excluding removing and installing headlights and excluding the long wait times between having them painted and waiting to de-fume.

The challenge is not having a drivable car while your doing this. Figure you’ll need to find a time where you don’t need your car for a solid 4-5 days.

If I can find a reasonably priced used set I might try it. That way if I destroy them-no loss. Time will tell...

Buy the eBay $650 pair, that’s what I did. I’m using my oem lights since quality is probably better but I’m using the lenses off those. Don’t get the $415 pair b/ those are very bad (lenses are siliconed not butyled). The 650s seems close enough to oem quality that you wouldn’t care. Better to get brand new lenses than “decent” oem lights with not brand spanking new lenses.

I also used black silicone in the cracks to hide the light-colored foam underneath so it's not so apparent.
I do wish there was a sealant that would somehow lock in the sticky, gooey portions close to the windshield.

These are the debut lights from my new start up “360 customs”. We have huge plans and then end up where we started🤣.

In all seriousness they look AMAZING! I wanted to do some side strip stuff but ran out of time and didn’t have spare parts to test on in case I jacked it up. So all we have is color matched (KAD) everything and a halo behind the shroud. Also will be fitted with diode dyanics everything. I bought 4 halos and put one of the guts inside the other in order to have light shine both ways to totally illuminate the slots. When you only shine toward the front, the back part of the slots of the shroud are not lit up behind the halo. They look epic though. Can’t wait to see these on the freshly painted car in a couple days.
