Hi guys,
My left headlight goes out and stays that way 90% of the time. Sometimes it turns on. I've replaced the ballast twice and the bulb once. The ballast replacement worked for a few months both times but eventually the light went out again. Any ideas what the heck is going on?

Are you using OEM Bulbs and ballasts? My headlights keep failing when I installed Morimoto xB bulbs, but after going back to oem they worked like a charm. I've read somewhere that the Ballasts on our g's are quite particular about which bulb and wattage it requires.

Ballast is not OEM but the bulb is.

I think that might be your issue.I hate to tell you this but getting an OEM Ballast might be your solution to the whole situation.

I was told by me local dealer that you simply cannot buy an OEM balast. It's listed at item 4 on the head light drawing - you have to buy a whole new headlight for $1500, which is great.

So, what are people doing about this?

My headlight isn't working. I bought a new bulb but it didn't work, so I suspect the ballast is shot. if it is, where do I buy one. Being the fact that you have to remove the front bumper from the car I was looking to buy 2 new ballasts and 2 new bulbs so I hopefully never have to do this task again.

I was also contemplating some LED upgrades but haven't had a chance to look for any DS2 fitments yet - this could be much easier way to go?
