Buzzing noise near steering wheel

https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicAdv...medium=ios_app

Hey guys,

I took some advice but still couldn’t isolate it. There seems to be this sound coming from the steering wheel/dashboard when moving under certain conditions. I’m sure it isn’t a big deal but wanted to know if anyone has any ideas. It feels like a certain vibration only at certain frequencies but can definitely be heard over the steering wheel area. The video was recorded when braking from 30 mph and that’s where most of the vibration activates the buzzing noise. Can also happen when going over some bumps.

Also, this is my first post so glad to be part of this community. Thanks!

EDIT: So I was driving the car and noticed that the buzzing can be heard if traveling @ 20-25mph. When I put my hand on the steering wheel only did I noticed the sound stops. So the vibration/sound can be felt on the steering wheel. Unfortunately, the dealership that I bought my car from has a reputation of not responding to e-mails/calls so it'll be tough to get this fixed.

Yup. Put some mounting tape on my cowling to shut it up, worked like a charm! (Only did passenger side, didn't want to remove the wipers)

For me, it's that piece of plastic on the top of the steering column. Slip something in between there.

I've got a loud buzzing rattle inside my dash at low rpm and or rough pavement that I can't find. Drives me nuts.

You know what, I was checking this out the other day and for some reason, it's loose to where I can squeeze it and it moves around. I think this is the noise as rubbing it makes it similar.

Just an update: I went into the dealer to check it out and afterwards, the sound didn't come back. But then they somehow f'ed my car up where the fog lights don't turn on now and I believe its due to a blown fuse. But I appreciate the response.
