You can go buy a rattle can of plastidip and do it mounted. There are tons of videos on plastidipping emblems on youtube.

I'll check it out.
If I have to spend an hour taping it off, I might as well floss the bych, spray it on the bench and remount it. I've got a roll of 3m emblem tape handy.

Yeah, I think you'll be much happier with the results if you remove it. Plus, if you spray it on the car you have the small chance of pulling some off when you go to remove the tape. Then you'll get to take it off and do it how you should have
