Haha, perfect. That's the one I was reading up on. Did you do front & rear or use all 4 strips up front?

I did both front and rear. One strip in each spot is more than sufficient. I also bought some velcro strips to mount the led strips under the front seats since the 3m tape didn't work.

Have any pics? I'd like to see if the light strips have nicer coverage

First off, awesome write up! From what I was able to dig up, looks like you are tapping into the Interior Room Light wire. When exactly is this output activated? It appears to me it is with the overhead switch for on/door/off, is this correct?

I want to see if this will give me the desired results, I would like the footwell lighting to automatically turn on/off with the headlights. I know I can also tap into the glove box light fuse, but like the idea of gradual brightening and dimming.

Any input would be appreciated, thank you OP!

Unless you want fancy colors or other lighting gimmicks, have you looked into the newer OEM ambient lighting kits? Granted I have a Coupe, but I'm running the new Q50/Q60 kit (p/n: T99F3-5CH0A) and it illuminates both front and rear footwells and the cup holders.

The lights turn ON/OFF with the door, ON/OFF with the headlights, and has a ON/OFF switch which also toggles between 2 brightness settings. It doesn't have the "fade to dark" effect but...

Just a suggestion...

Thank you, glad to see it's helping people years later. Actually, the lights end up staying on even with the overhead door light switched off. However, they do dim and turn off as expected. It's a bit fuzzy as I don't have the car anymore, but yeah lol.
