OEM Spoiler not sitting flush

OEM Spoiler not sitting flush
This might just be a pet peeve...but after I purchased my CPO, I found out that the spoiler was added on from another dealership after initial purchase. The spoiler itself is secured on, but the mounting wasn't exactly the most flush, despite being an OEM install, as you can see from the image. One side is slightly raised, to the point that a small bit of the adhesive is detached. I took it to my nearby dealership, and they refused to repair this under warranty, stating that it wasn't installed by them, and it doesn't compromise the spoiler's function. I'm going to assume every dealership will sing the same song, so I'll probably attempt to fix this myself. But before I do, just out of curiosity - does anyone else have this problem? Did you end up fixing it?

Can't really help you but to me it looks like a bad install. Perhaps they drilled the hole on one side a tad too close to the inside thus causing a slight upward pressure and the two sided tape started giving away.
As far as them saying it doesn't affect the spoiler ... I disagree, air is being funneled under the spoiler and will cause it light more ..... IMHO

If I remember correctly, there is a clip in the general vicinity of where that is lifted. Give it a good solid whack and see if it snaps in. I had to do that to get mine seated all the way when I installed it. Good luck man, that would suck to have to pull your spoiler off.

Because it isn't OEM spoiler . I bought one on Ebay and got same trouble like you were now . I returned it & buy OEM from Infiniti dealership. Different between those are many things . This spoiler doesn't have 3 bolts at middle, that's why it was bending.

Actually it is. Service records indicate it was purchased as an option and installed two weeks after first drive off the lot. So I know for sure it's OEM.

I took the spoiler out today. The spoiler *is* OEM...but wow the dealer install was complete rubbish. The holes weren't drilled exact, there were 3m tape gaps everywhere, the space inside the spoiler is so dirty it looks like it ran through Afghanistan, and the installer didn't bother plugging the extra holes left over. If this is a dealer install, then I'm never going to the dealer again. It's pathetic.

The double sided foam tape that came on the spoiler seems to be thicker than the 3M automotive foam tape you find at your local car store. I'm pinning hopes that the thinner tape won't affect it.

Yay for OCDs everywhere! It's completely flush now, though I had to double stack the 3M molding tape to do it. Oh, and I also took out the plastic pins on both ends of the spoiler. Deemed it unnecessary. Doesn't even hold the spoiler in place.

Well as I suspected the holes for the pins were messed up during the initial install. Either they were too big or not in the right spot or they wore down the pins because mine snapped into place tightly. Hope the tape alone holds up for you, nice job!

HI guys, I bought a used 2013 g37 Sedan and thinking about pulling off the Oem spoiler and replacing with the Oem Chrome piece (which I now have).
Now I read there's extra drilled holes in addition to the tape holding in the spoiler.
Is this possible or are the extra holes going to be exposed?
How strong is the tape? Seems pretty strong.
