Custom headlights DIY Angels eyes, DRL bar, switchbacks,...

BOOM! Well with 3 days of work to dip my wheel, work on the fog lights, and customize my headlights I just finished! It was a lot of work to figure out what paint, primer or not, wiring, removing parts, and doing customized work on everything. Go big or go home!

Here is what I have a Black 2011 G37x.
Here is what I did:
  • Angels eyes to main headlights
  • Added switchback turn signal LED
  • Added a DRL LED tube bar to headlight that I wired to switchback.
  • Painted headlight Satin Black (Krylon Fusion)
  • Projector lens plastic Gloss Yellow (Krylon Superbond + white primer)
  • VHT black Night shade reflector & Running light plastic cover
  • Added Cree LED 60W fog light bulbs

So I could go over step by step, but there are many write ups but NONE i could find ever tell you how to wire the switch backs when you have 3 wires. That took me an hour of messing around and killing my battery.

I only have pictures of one view of the lights, but here is what I have...feel free to ask questions.

Ebay prices vary, but here is a moderately priced one... http://www.ebay.com/itm/161452850597?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&var=460491399753&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
The wiring was a B*tCh! The angels eyes took time. The DRL LED tube has a resistor and three wires, R Y B. It was a pain of testing and figures what goes where. R to +, Y to + flashing, and B to -. If you exact detail I'll write it up...

Oh and they come in different sizes! Make sure you get the size you want. I had originally wanted to LED the top sharp point, but decided not to after seeing how it installed.

Pretty busy 3 days I'd say, looks like it went together well and nice idea w/ the switchback strip. When you get some time a video clip of them in action at night would be

BTW, did you switch to the STiR lenses while you were in there?
The yellow projector shroud is pretty bold, interested to see how it ties in w/ the rest of your G in the day.

Hats off for making your G your own

No I decided against the STiR lens after thinking about the all the extras I was doing I did not see a need for it. My personal opinion and I like my choice. Will work on the video and pics, but I still have the mirrors and window trim plus the I am going to make my tail lights permanent GTR look instead of the black plasti-dip I have now.

I can do that...would you prefer this thread or a new thread?

It could get lost if I do it now in this thread...

Very nice!!! Would definitely love to see a DIY thread also. Yellow shroud is a bit loud and out of place but very nice!
