Custom Daytime LED Install!!!

Did you buy the Eagle eye LED bulbs. I bought 10 used 8 so have 2 for spares. Hope mine last longer. So far so good. Drove to FL and back with no issues.
Are you using voltage sensing controller/switch? I would make sure your giving your LED's a proper ground. This can lead to premature burn out.

Anyone in the NYC area who wouldn't mind installing a DRL controller for me? I don't even know where to begin or what to order.
For a small price?
(I'll order the controller and the DRL lights)
I'm trying to add DRL to my 2011 g37

My 2011 Infiniti G37X Coupe needed an update as it looked outdated without Daytime LED's... WOW, what a difference. My G37x looks like a 2015, only better than the 3 bulb corner kit that costs $700 for the kit and $500 for dealer install!
So I took the plunge and made my own kit. Looks SICK and works better. Parts cost me $50 and I have spare bulbs. :-)
Automatically turn on 100% when car is on. Dim to 70% bright when I turn parking lights, or lights on. Automatically turn off 12 seconds after car is turned off. LED module is very easy simple 5 wire install and inexpensive. Works great as well.
Color brightness match's headlights well. Very functional, very bright during day and night. LED's do not bother oncoming traffic.
I didn't like the pre-made bolt on lights you see everywhere... SO, I used Individual LED bulbs and made my own design. Many combination of 3-5 lights can be installed straight or angled into the honeycomb grill holes. I played around with several patterns before deciding on straight, 4 bulbs, that kinda match the chrome strip of the Fog lights.
I may put together a DIY kit if there is enough interest.
If you live in Iowa, I could be persuaded to do this Mod to your G37... but it won't be cheap. I spent 10 hours installing them, and building a GRADE A better than factory Harness, soddered all connections, then used heat shrink connectors, loomed everything. Routed harness stealth/safe. Looks Factory. Performs Factory.
Enjoy the pics!

LEDs generate quite a bit of heat (for an integrated circuit). In fact, heat is the primary cause for LEDs to go out which is why the LEDs he is using are housed in aluminum as it acts as a heat sink.
Again, this is likely a heat issue.
As an FYI: You could use an LED driver or build a simple 555 timer circuit to utilize PWM to manage duty cycle. This would remove the burn-out problem of the LEDs. Any discrete LEDs like these are prone to heat problems especially as DRLs as they are on during hot days when heat dissipation does not happen very well.
I did the same thing to my 09 Sedan 3 each side only thing is 1-2 light blows out every 4-6 months :/. Different one every time, They were so inexpensive I bought 50 of them, Just a PAI to change lights 2-3 times a year. Looks great but I would have spent a little more to not have to change them this offten

Good looking install. Nice and clean. Love the angled look. If I ever get bored enough, I may revamp my straight across LED configuration and go for 4 diagonal. It's so hard to align them perfect but can be done if enough time is spent. :-)

You can see the DRL controller red wire going into the positive terminal side. I grounded the NEG lead of the controller to a bolt on the firewall. OEM manual says to never ground anything to the negative terminal. IPDM system conflicts, etc...

My LED's generate little to no heat. Even when driven for multiple hours, I can touch them and feel warm, but NOT HOT. Havn't had any burn out issues. 5k miles and no issues. My DRL install has been flawless since Feb. It's a daily driver. Still love the look. A couple times I've glanced back and the 12 second timer shut off has not turned the LED's off. I've used my remote start to restart the G and then turn it back off and the lights go off at 12 seconds. Only hick up ive seen. Not sure if the LED's would turn off if left along, but I havn't wanted to chance it.

MY LED's 3 watt, generate very little heat and are super bright. I've ran 5 plus hours and I can easily touch them. The DRL controller gets warm, but NOT hot. So, the combination I'm using should not suffer heat related failures as heat is a NO ISSUE for my install.

Ok here is mine, It's Hella DRLs, Round. Custom Flush Hella Flush Install in this video. or search related for pics
** Edited Because: Wanted to let you know this is an 08 G37S coupe which at the time came with faux vents(no fogs below, only next to headlights)
The faux vents was drilled with a hole-saw for measurement, just skimming the framing brackets to make this possible.
