Adding HID's to Lower Fogs

I've got a 2010 with the fog lights where they should be in the lower front bumper. I want to upgrade the halogens to HID'S but I am wondering if HID's will fit without any mods. I know I need a complete HID kit to include a ballast and wiring but I just want to know if the HID bulb will fit in the stock housing without modification. What about heat? Will it burn the plastic? Also I don't see any HID bulbs with a 90 degree bend like the stock halogens.

I can only speak from experience with my 35w HID Fogs (There are 50w as well), but you'll be just fine! The stock housing can take the heat and the bulb does not have the same bend as the H8's (H1's if you have a Coupe), but will fit nonetheless. I've been using my same set of 35w 6000K HID's from my 2010 G and switched it over to my 2013 and they are still going strong and look great! There is a HUGE array of sellers/brands/specs out there, many of which I suspect are just re-branded and are all the same haha. Anyways, here's a link to the set I have that have been going for 4+ years, you can go ahead and spend more if you like but it won't guaranty any better quality or durability so toss the coin and enjoy!

Where did you mount your ballasts? Seems like you found an area where moisture and vibration is not an issue since yours have lasted so long.

Just zip-tie or tape them down to anything up off the lower engine shield, make sure the connections are tight and or taped and you'll be fine, the ballasts are waterproof & solid, vibration won't bother them, weakest link is the plug in connection as far as water, don't go off roading haha
