Anyone using LED bulbs in the fogs?

I got tired of looking at the HID headlight and the halogen "foglight". I plan on changing but what are you guys using? Anyone stick HID's in the foglights too? I was thinking about just getting LED foglight bulbs to make the colors match and add some brightness. With something like http://store.ijdmtoy.com/H11-H8-LED-...s-p/40-028.htm or http://www.ebay.com/itm/OPT7-LED-Fog-Light-Plasma-Replacement-Bulbs-881-9005-9006-H1-H3-H7-H10-H11-5202-/121414791515?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&var=&hash=item1c44e2b15b&vxp=mtr

I just swapped mine. The ones you show will not be bright and just for looks. I purchased xml2 led's and they killed two birds with one stone. They match my headlamps and they're brighter than the stock fogs. Diode Dynamics showed them out of stock so I resorted to ebay. Do a YouTube search on xml2 fogs and you'll understand.

While not LED I just through in a yellow set of H1's I got off ebay for $15.
Looks a ton better at night. If the fogs are going to be a different color then HID's may as well be a real color.
They do help in the rain to illuminate road signs & the road lines.

I paid under 80.00 on the bay. The Diode Dynamics fog light kit was 200.00. A cheaper one is more of a risk to me than led lights . But .......a good education is never free.

Go HID ... I would say Diode Dynamics is the way to go... But that $200 price tag isn't...

Before you resort to buying lower quality on eBay, watch this video:

Our XML2's are perfect for the fog lights, and produce 1,420 lumens! That's plenty of output for the fog lights

So are they good for illumination or for being seen like a tail light... my experience with led is they don't project...

Very nice comparison. What does 1,420 lumens compare to? Halogen light output?

For a fog light application, 1,420 lumens will be brighter than your factory halogen bulb.

The halogen-bulb lumen output varies from each bulb size. We will have that information added to the site soon. (It takes a while to test all of these bulbs!)

For reference, a quality HID conversion kit will produce around 2,700-3000 lumens in the low-beams

This is an example of the output on an XP80 fog light (510 lumens)

The XML2 is 1,420 lumens, so it will project just fine

The older SMD models don't project very well

Diode Dynamics was the first place I went for XML2 led fogs but they were out of stock when I went to order. As to the brightness of the ones I bought they are brighter than the oem by a good bit.

We have the XML2's in stock now

They are considerably brighter than the XP80s (1,420 lumens vs. 510)
