License Plate Lights Inop (not fuse)

Hi all!

My license plate lights are out, the bulbs are fine, and the fuse is NOT blown. I've checked all three fuse boxes and none of the fuses are blown (I checked them all because what the hell I'm already in there).

Any ideas?

Did you try reversing polarity of the bulbs? How are you certain they are bad?

Bulbs were functioning previously and I haven't ****ed with it so polarity isn't an issue; also they power up when power is applied to them outside of the housing.

I haven't checked to see whether or not there's power at the housing. How does one determine this?

Thanks for the welcome!

Not to insult you, but have you made sure that the headlights are fully on when you're checking them?

You check for power at the socket by using a multimeter or circuit tester.

No worries! Yes I made sure they were fully on and not on auto. I have neither of those things unfortunately. Looks like a trip to the shop

You can buy either one relatively cheaply if you want to DIY. But electrical issues are frustrating so you may be better off paying a pro. Good luck.
