Beginning Custom Headlights

Thanks, it took several hours for the first one, I had to nail down exactly what I was gonna do, the second headlight took less than an hour open to close. They're both wired to connectors and ready to install and attach to my DRL harness. I'll tackle that tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed they light up first try.

Yes...... I think I would know this. I've done many many many headlight jobs before and this has always been my effective way of removing the chrome paint and prepping the housings. I'm not removing ALL the chrome with the 80 grit, I'm simply roughing the surface of it. The 150 will come through and do the job nicely then. I'm not trying to start a pissing war with you here, just elaborating on my my techniques.
I may not paint cars for a living, but I have a common knowledge of painting techniques and procedures. I also have the knowledge of painting a car myself and wouldn't use this method on the exterior of a vehicle. With that being said, I really don't care to take your advice, but thanks for the input.

You're just wasting your time is what I'm saying.... You don't need to sand anything with 80 grit.... OR 150 grit.... The surfaces are perfectly smooth as is.....spray adhesion promoter directly on the parts and paint.

Hit a roadblock guys, the rings I ordered are CCFL, I didn't know they require an inverter board. They wont work on DC power. I'll have to overnight some inverter boards from Diode Dynamics and retry the install. However, the rings are installed and the harness is ready.
