Aftermarket headlight bulbs

I want to change my stock bulbs for 6k (and add 6k to fogs later.) I have done some searching and found out that our cars do not like certain aftermarket bulbs. A lot of threads but none with clear answers. Which brand of aftermarket bulbs work for our cars?? Also please do not suggest Osram or Phillips because I'm simply not interested in spending $200 on headlight bulbs. I've had great results with ddm tuning in my other car (hid kit headlights and foglights) but it seems the g37 is picky when it comes to bulbs. Also have read a lot of great things for diode dynamics on this forum. So can anyone share some expierce with which bulbs work and which do not? Thanks

For reference,

Honestly it's a hit or miss. Some work and some only work when you swap bulbs from driver to passengers.

From what I gathered, the problem only occurs in 2010 and up models??

I bought bulbs off eBay and had some initial failure to spark problems, but after a week or so they both turned on flawlessly every single time. It's been more than 6 months since then and I've had zero trouble. I have a 2012 G37, so I don't know if the year of the car is really the difference.

I will agree that it's hit or miss, however, with bulbs being 10 dollars apiece, you can afford to get a lot of crap bulbs before the economics favors the quality stuff.

Got my 6K D2S headlight bulbs here:
McCulloch 6000k HID Car Kit : Bi Xenon Kit : Xenon Bulbs : Xenonking.com

DDM Tuning 6K HID Kit H8 for the fogs:

The colors match and are running strong going on 4+ years, first in my 2010 and now swapped over to my 2013.

Do the Diode Dynamic bulbs still allow you to maintain your hi/low?

its the 2011 and up that have the problem i believe. i have ddm for fogs with no issue but the headlight worked for 2 months then one went. I guess thats what you get for 15$ bulbs. ill be going with Morimoto for the next set.

There is no high beam bulbs for our car. Its all one bulb, D2S. When you hit the high beam switch inside the car, it literally raise a metal bar inside the headlight that produce the cut off to allow higher beam output. Thats it.
