"Light Sensitivity"....great joke Infiniti

I thought I was being picky with the settings of the light stalk. But I guess I'm not the only one. That thing is so NOT intuitive. Who the heck even approved that thing for production?
I never leave mine in auto mode. I manually switch it on (to auto) when it's dark enough outside and switch it off before shutting the car off. I never go past auto to the other modes. That should save some premature wear and tear on the headlight bulbs, ballasts, etc.

Well, sometimes you just have to manually enable the lights, like if it's raining and it's just not dark enough outside to trip the sensor. I dunno, I still say just moving AUTO to the top of the stalk would solve all this. I hope you're listening, Infiniti!!

My light sensitivity settings work well. My headlights were coming on too soon (I felt) during dusk, so I increased the sensitivity and the lights came on when appropriately dim (IMO).
Maybe it's a matter of patience. While playing with it, the lights didn't immediately shut on/off as I adjusted. It took time for the new setting to be applied. Setting it how I wanted it took awhile.

I also do not like how you have to cycle through having them on, then off, then on when you move from "full off" to "full on". For this reason, I always have the stalk set to DRLs only, all the time. The DRLs are a lot cheaper than a ballast or HID bulb, so I do not mind if they burn out sooner. When it is dark outside, it is only one flick forward to turn the headlights to "full on". When I enter my garage, I just flick them back to DRLs only (which turns off the headlights), and the DRLs turn off after about 5 minutes. No excessive on/off cycles required.

If you turn them on manually and leave them on when you turn off the car, it gives a solid warning tone when you open the door. If you leave them on, they will turn off on their own after several minutes. I don't know how many, but long before they drain the battery.

Every time I flash my brights I end up turning the lights on or off or something I don't want...

the light sensitivity determines how much longer the light stays on during dawn and dusk times depending on how much light is going through the sensor, not how much faster the light turns on when you go into a tunnel etc.
