Good evening.. A little history.. Had battery disconnected and door readjusted when I had front fender replaced. Got car back and the passenger window will only go up and down while holding switch. Door opens, window goes 3/4 way down. Yes we have Heard this before... Reset window switches... Well, I reset according to manual and did the 15 sec routine commonly shown on threads here. It works for driver side window but not passenger side. So I figured I'd try something else.. Tried smart key to raise windows and the passenger window just inches up every time I hold the lock button vs going all the way up.

Anyone ever have this experience and fixed it? Nothing was wrong with windows before. Should I disconnect battery again? This sucks when I have a passenger. Thanks in advance.

Did you actually try to reset the passenger window from the passenger door?

 

Did it from both passenger and driver side..

 

Then disconnect the battery again for a couple hours. Then try again.

If still nothing, may have a bad switch

 

I thought our fob just rolled the windows down? Now I gotta look at my Manual lol... what year is your G?
2011-2012 had faulty window switches and does what you just described. Ive had my G just now a year and got the letter to bring it in for the window switches A new update on Gps and a Ecu. Funny how the car is new and already needing 3 things but 2 updates ... to bad the system cant use wifi and while at home update like our phones and computers do..

I have 2008 G37S. I'm going to try it a few more times and then just disconnect battery for a few hours again while i change back to OEM intakes and possibly clean the throttle bodies. i'll keep you informed.

well.. i disconnected battery.. both sides were of course out of whack.. performed re-programming for driver side and worked like a charm. did same exact thing for passenger side and it did not program at all. window still come down 3/ way upon opening door and only goes up and down manually (no auto up or down).

 

just a quick update. switch was i guess broken.. ordered one on ebay and installed.. window works like a charm now. thanks.

 

I had the same issue when I had disconnected my battery to jump start it after it had died. Each time I opened the doors when I turned the car off the windows rolled almost completely down. I took my car to the dealership and the service tech fixed it immediately. They said to push the power window button to the first click and hold it there for 10 seconds then release it. They had a 370z that had come in a few days before and had the same issue so they knew a quick fix for it and didn't charge me a dime.
