Our Tail-as-Turn™ DIY Kit is $10 here on the site: Tail as Turn Module, DIY - Tail as Turn Modules - Specialties - Lighting
We have a plug and play version coming out soon for the G37 Coupe, and the Sedan will come next. (Waiting on the OEM connectors to arrive!)
The DIY kit installation is quite simple (see video above), but the plug and play version will be available within the next few weeks or so. Retail will be similar to our FR-S / BRZ / WRX / STi kits (~$30) depending on the cost of the OEM Connectors.
Feel free to send us an email if you have any questions: contact@diodedynamics.com

Nick, which route did Paul go with you personal vehicle to prevent hyperflash? A flasher module or inline resistors? If a module, does DD sell one for the G?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I did something similar to this on my motorcycle using a towing tail light converter. I added some additional dual filament teardrop style bulbs on either side of the rear fender. Goal was to have them function as both running, stop, and turn lights.
I believe on this car, all tail light functions are bcm controlled. There is no dedicated flasher module. The module likely contains a resistor for the added load.
@DD a PnP version would be nice. Not a big fan of cutting wires in a newer car. How would the PnP version accommodate the ability to use or not use the stock turn bulb?
From a safety perspective, stock turn signals are poorly visible during the day, esp in midday sunlight. This should help.

Based off the following video for the FRS/BRZ and another one that was by a third part about doing this install in a newer wrx, I believe if you utilize the the stock turn signal light area along with the led after installing the kit, you need to change the stock halogen to a LED bulb to keep the load within normal parameters.

^^Quite possible. The bcm outputs are rated for a particular load. Exceed that and larger issues may ensue. I'd be curious to know what the current rating is of these brighter led bulbs. I briefly glanced at the DD site last night after reading this thread but didn't find this spec listed.

The G37 has a built-in (non-replaceable) flasher module, so you'll need to install inline resistors to prevent hyperflashing
A 6 ohm 50 watt resistor per turn signal should do the trick (common size). It's really not that bad! I'll see if I can have that included in the install video for the plug-n-play kit
For those of you worrying about the factory LEDs failing prematurely, they won't be driven beyond the factory specifications so you won't increase the odds of them failing. OEM LED setups go through rigorous testing to ensure they outlast the vehicle.
I'm sorry if I've missed some of your questions. We will post more when a PnP version is released. Feel free to give us a call: (314) 205-3033
Thanks!
