two different things. The pictures you uploaded are chrome bezels with faux vents (fog light vents). Basically you are saying the same thing I said in my first post, except you have your bezels, faux vents, and fog lamps mismatched. I highly doubt you need to purchase new fogs to swap to IPL bumper, since your previous fogs will fit perfectly fine in your faux vents with chrome bezels.

The IPL bumper is simply the aero bumper with the fog lamp bezels already in place.
That make perfect sense.

So you will need to buy that with the Aero/Anniversary bumper, not the IPL bumper.

I remember seeing a 2010 Anniversary at the dealer, when I bought my Coupe. (Wife didnt like the red interior)
THere were no fog lights.
I didnt notice fogs on G37s until the 2011 models.

This is the fog light conversion kit. I do not know why it is called that, because it is confusing, but it is what it is.
Correct, as the 2011+ Sport bumpers had different inserts.

Wow, I learned something new!!

He stated a fog light "conversion" kit.
To be able to use your 2011+ fog lights that came with a 2011+ Sport bumper with a 2010 Aero bumper (NON IPL)

Superteeth,

What color is your car, and why did you not buy the "IPL" bumper?

The color is QAA (Moonlight White). I believe the "actual" "IPL" bumper (i.e., with the fog light holes) would only come in Malbec Black and Graphite Shadow. That, I believe, is why the fog light conversion kit is listed for all the other color codes. However, I see that some people are somehow acquiring factory-painted aero bumpers with the fog light holes already there. This leads me to believe that whoever is selling them advertised as "factory-painted" may be lying (although it would not make financial sense to re-paint the IPL bumper and sell it for less than the IPL bumper).

Or, come to think of it, whoever is selling these bumpers could just be putting the fog light conversion kit into the factory-painted bumpers of colors other than the IPL's colors (again, this would not make financial sense, and customers would not usually be happy to have two holes in their plastic mesh that they cannot fix without buying fog lamps).

I really do not know what is really going on. I was hoping I would be able to get the aero bumper with the fog light holes, since so many people are posting pictures of it, but that is not what happened.

Alright, I guess I got the wording wrong, but that is what the Sewell guy I was talking to called them. To be more clear, the plastic mesh that comes with the aero bumper that I purchased does not have holes for my fog lamps. I do not need new fog lamps, and never said I did need them.

The fog lamps will not fit in the original aero bumper, since there is no hole in the plastic mesh. That is what the conversion kit is for. It is simply the plastic mesh with the holes for the fog lamps. The kit is two very expensive pieces of plastic that will replace the plastic mesh that does not have a hole so that the fog lamps can be used with the aero bumper.

Have it painted. You will save $1k if they still have the deals going. You need to read the 117 page thread:

https://www.myg37.com/forums/body-in...swap-idea.html

Infiniti was selling fully painted IPL bumpers with the lower grills mistakenly for the same price as unpainted IPL bumpers without the grills. They identified the mistake and issued new part numbers and started charging $1500 for bumpers that were mis-priced at $283. Instead of upping the price on the cheap bumpers, they continued to sell the old part numbers for cheap, which is why so many members like me, upgraded to the IPL bumper. A lot of the colors were sold out, but it's still a heck of a lot cheaper to paint it than to buy the color matched bumper. I did mine a few months back, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are still some cheap ones left to be had.

I think the confusion is that all G37's have fog lights. The cheap bumper will have holes for bottom mounted fogs. You can keep your integrated headlight fogs, and just have unused holes (it's not that noticeable, just a matter how picky you are), which is the cheapest option. If you want the lower fogs, then you need to buy fogs, and the slim washer tank. I think you'll need an extra relay if you want to run the integrated fogs and the lower fogs too. The anniversary grills will fit the IPL bumper and do not have the holes, if you want to do it that way. Anyway, everything you ever want to know about this mod, along with another 100 extra pages can be found at the link.

Happy Modding!

It's a double bonus if you can get the cheap bumper in the right color, but I know the OB were one of the first ones to sell out.

The problem was that I could not find the aero front bumper with the fog light holes painted in QAA. What I ended up getting was the anniversary bumper factory-painted in QAA, along with the bumper inserts with fog light holes (the fog light conversion kit), so that I could still use my lower bumper fogs.

I am one of those really picky people, and if I saw a difference (whether real or imagined) between the original factory-painted panels and the body shop painted front bumper (which would be difficult to match due to it being a tri-coat) it would hurt a little every time I saw the car.

At any rate, the front bumper factory-painted in QAA cost $999 (plus, for some reason, only $23 in shipping, possibly because the dealer, Sewell Infiniti, was in Dallas while I was in Austin) was not much more expensive than $283+$150 for shipping plus ~$300 for a good paint job. Thanks for the information, though.
