That's a matter of personal choice and budget. YOu asked about higher kelvin bulbs which I personally hate. Anything over about 6000K looks like rice to me. All they do is glare into the eyes of oncoming drivers.

That said, I'd recommend you to research a bit for yourself in making the decision. That site is so much more than just a vendor, they are an excellent reference to learn about lighting. Start here.
HID bulb information from The Retrofit Source Inc

I'll be buying 5000K bulbs myself soon and I'll probably try these: D2S: Morimoto 3Five (35w) - HID Bulbs from The Retrofit Source Inc If I hate them I'm only out of $45. Then I'll get some of the tried and true Osram CBI that are 4X more expensive.

I see. Then TRS can't help you, they are more into high quality bulbs and parts that actually illuminate well than the ricey purple or blue cheap higher K HID bulbs you want. They don't sell those. When you said higher I though you might have meant 5000K or 6000K. You can find that crap dirt cheap on eBay though.

I've bought and sold ebay kits around my area, (probably 25+ kits) the bulbs seem ok but they never seem to stay the "color" they claim to be. If your retrofitting a more inexpensive car I wouldn't have an issue with e-bay kits but having paid what I did for my car it makes me reluctant to use cheaper parts on it.

I don't know that there are any high quality high K HID bulbs. Are there? From a well known reputable brand that'll last for 5 years or so like quality HIDs should?
