I think I would individually wire up each led to make them less in number. But either way awesome DIY

WFLB-xx series Waterproof LED Flexible Light Bar | Side Emitting | Flexible LED Light Strips | LED Light Strips & Bars | Super Bright LEDs

I believe this is the strand i used. I definitely with Superbrightleds.com because of their quality reputation. Secondly i went with this strip because of how they wired in a series configuration. Every 3rd light can be cut. I actually cut 6 lights off of each side to fit the length i was going after.

I wired them together, but grounded each side separately. I also added a switch just in case i ever wanted to turn them off.

Found a pretty sweet touch sensor switch that is completely flat so blend in under the dash entirely flush. I put the switch in one of the empty slots to the left under the steering wheel. I'll take pictures of this as well.

I wired all the light wiring near the cabin filter (took out the glove box to get to this) and then behind the stereo to the switch. There is probably a better way but trying to go through the wiring grommet seemed to be a hassle so I went this route instead.

If you go with LED strips on that video then you'll be the first on this site to do that mod since no one has tried it yet. It really is unique hopefully you choose this mod! Let me know what you decide!

Here are a few pics of the switch I used. Its completely flush with the lower console and is a touch sensor. When on it has a blue light showing and when off it has a red light showing. I have never actually turned them off while driving, but i thought i might install it just in case. Plus i have a few empty slots anyway, so why not.

That looks great! Where did you get the switch and was it hard to install? Im surprised more people dont add a custom switch to their DRL's

surprisingly I got the switch at autozone. And it was somewhat just because it didnt come with any instructions on what the 3 prongs on the bottom of the switch actually did. So i had to kind of figure that out on my own.

on the back of the switch, there are 3 prongs. ground, accessory, power. I ground the switch to a bolt near the stereo. the accessory prong goes to the lights and the power prong i hooked up to a power wire near the stereo as well.
