Courtesy lights?

As far as I know our G's aren't equipped with courtesy lights, where exterior lights come on if you unlock the car with the remote. Has anyone installed anything that does this? I work nights and it's extremely dark when I come out of work and it would be nice to have that feature.

prob not AN EASY DIY

Like beneath the mirrors you're talking about, right? Yeah I don't know unless fabricating a portion of the bottom of the mirror and installing a light while running some wire. A nice white would like great.

I added some lights to my Tundra, I used a 6 foot vled's strip light that I stuck to the frame of the truck. It lit up my running boards so you could see the ground and the step down since I was lifted. The lights came on when you unlocked the truck and turned off when you locked it or started it. I tied it into the dome light circuit which also gave it a fade in fade out effect. It was actually really easy to do and looked great. The dome light is perfect for tying into so you won't be a ricer driving around with an under glow.

I've also seen people install a small led in the door handle or mirror that shines down on the floor tied into the same circuit.

I've got a video of my truck at home I can post up if you're interested.

Ive been looking into adding some courtesy lights by installing led strips underneath the car which would turn on when you unlock the car. The wiring is tricky and my friend and I are still figuring it out. He's done it on his GS300 but Lexus has courtesy lights so he wired the LEDs so that they'd come on at the same time his courtesy lights turn on. Ill keep everyone posted as I proceed.

It's not really the style I'm going for, but if you ever get it working post a video of it, maybe it'll change my mind. You could try doing what Blamb did and tap into the dome lights.
