Illuminted Kick Plates + Interior Accent Lighting

Just got '09 G37 sedan and thinking of getting illuminated kick plates and interior accent lighting. I found the kick plates online for like $240 and the interior lighting for around $115. I'm terrible at installing stuff so I need to take it to a dealer. How much is a reasonable price for installation for these two items at the same time? Do you have these in your car and is it worth it? Thanks.

dealer will charge you a a few hundred to install. The interior accent is nice, but the Infiniti kit is a little too dim. We have that in the Audi and it is nicer. The illuminated kickplate is nice also, but again, you only see it for a few seconds when you open the door. We have that in our M35 and to be honest, I don't even remember it's there now. They are nice touches to have if it came with the car. But if you have to pay for it after and the labor, it's not worth the money, in my opinion.

Tough for your situation, but I think they're worth it for a DIY, but not if your going to pay labor.

The interior accent lighting is definitely worth it IMO They are dim so I sliced it added my own white led strip and also added a pair to the rear seats. I definitely get a lot of compliments from new passengers.

why not save your $ and just get your own led and wire it up, since you had to slice into it anyways?

I didn't want to hack into the factory hardness.

a small LED under the footwell that lights up when the headlights are on. gives it a soft glow for ambient lighting.

I added the accent lighting to my 08 and love it. Its about the perfect brightness for me. Dealer charged ~100 to install it I think but they changed the cabin air filter for free since the lower dash had to be opened up anyways.

Just installed the ambient light kit this morning. Took 2 hrs, I took my time and read the manual very carefully. Panels are easy to remove but not as easy to put back. I ended up broke one of the plastic clip when I remove the panel behind the glove box, not big deal since they're holding up by 7 screws. I've been very gentle but it seems unavoidable to break something when you open up body panels as this has happen to me in the past with other cars.

If you never installed anything on a car before just save your frustration and take to dealer get things installed. Few hundreds doesn't seem to bad, what do you want to lose, brain cells or money?
