Skyline Badging

What does everyone think about people re-badging their G with Sklyline badges?
I've heard about people doing it, but before yesterday had never seen a car that had this done...I saw one in the DFW area.
Didn't care for it myself...just seems kind of silly. As far as I know all Skylines are right hand drive because they are for JDM. The "real" Skylines I've seen in person were all right hand drive, so it seems kind of dumb to badge a left hand drive G as a Skyline.

Dumb....................I have seen one out here in Vegas, and it just doesn't look right. After seeing Skylines I really don't get why people would do this. The other one is when they switch over to Nissan badging. I guess they should have bought an altima instead to make them happy.

Agree. I think it's dumb. For only one reason.....IT'S NOT A SKYLINE PEOPLE!

unless you imported it from Japan....it will NEVER be a skyline.

But....different strokes for different folks.

Meh, I don't think it's that bad. An Infiniti G37 is a USDM version of the JDM Nissan Skyline 370GT. They are mechanically and cosmetically the same, except the right-side vs left-side driving and the numerous badges on the car. This is no different than rebadging an Acura RSX TypeS to a Honda Integra TypeR.

Imo, if someone likes it, then c'est la vi. We are not bigger/better/higher class people by driving Infinitis instead of Nissans. Everyone knows they are the same company.

It's not about Infiniti owners are better than Nissan; no one said that...it's about it is not a SKYLINE.

I'm sure they know that. They do it to be different. The g37 is just a usdm rebadged version of the skyline. I wouldn't do it..but it doesn't really bother me. Better than those putting 26s and having suicide doors.

I don't think it's all that bad either. I personally wouldn't do it, but hey, it's your car. I just think that by doing this most people don't know the JDM G37 is called a skyline and when they see skyline badges on your car they may think you're trying to pull off being a GTR lol.

.

Having owned an ACURA Integra Type R (these are 2 diferent types of cars altogether) this is dumb as well. It would be like me taking my Jeep and turning all the badging into a Dodge......dumb.

Uhmmm, actually it is. Same exact car, just different badging.

It's like when a Mexican guy named Pedro immigrates to the US and becomes a citizen. Then changes his name to Peter. Same person, different name.

He probably meant just a regular Acura RSX rebadged as Honda Integra. It's the same car (DC5).

Your example of a Jeep rebadged as a Dodge is well . . . . . dumb. That's a whole different thing. There is no such thing as a "Dodge Wrangler".

An intergra was not an RSX...........................RSX was the next generation. Maybe I am wrong but the RSX and the Integra sure look different. I own an Integra and sure wasn't an RSX.

Hmmmmm...let's see...one is left hand drive, the other is right hand drive.

LOL great analogy.
I've seen one or two. I would never do it because it looks long and out of place anywhere you put it. I'm fine with the standard badges on the G.

And in Japan..........they rebadge their Nissan Skyline to Infiniti!!

You'll hear them say:

それは本当のインフィニティはない
それは日産です

Actually not at all...it's not bringing the exact same (1) car into the US and then rebadging as in the case of the same (1) person coming here and changing his name.

2 cars
1 person

It would be like Pedro's cousin Pepe coming to the US and changing his name to Pedro to impersonate his cousin...
