Drop the bumper!! probably would be about the same amount of time as masking everything off.

can't you just get at them from underneath the front after you remove the wind deflector?

seems a little silly infiniti would make it so you have to remove the whole bumper just to get at those little faux plates.

Probably. When I did my grille and fog trim I just pulled my bumper. Its so easy to do IMO. A few bolts on the bottom, 2 screws on the sides, you gain access to by turning your tires and a few clips on the radiatior cover and 2 bolts under the weather stripping and done. I have mine off within 10 minutes. That way you have full access to the back. May not be easy to some, but for me, I just find it easier that way.

I was JUST thinking this as I finished masking off the two small vents on the sides (approx 30 mins.) Dang. First coats are drying...I'm liking it so far.

One more coat before clear coat goes on and then I may attempt the middle piece.

looks like it's coming along well!

if you do that middle piece, careful....it's hollow. you may paint right through it and into your radiator.....don't wanna do that.

Ya that's where I'm stuck. I finished the sides and they look great but I'm not sure how to go about the middle. Was planning on sticking a piece of cardboard behind it or something but not sure how to get to it. I'm a noob at everything (i.e taking the bumper off) so I don't want to attempt anything "too hard." Not sure what to do...

Remove the 8 or so 10mm bolts that hold the splash guard onto the bumper under the car. Should allow you to slide a piece of cardboard back behind the mesh.

Guys are being extra nice to you, Sarah. They would have been in super flame mode otherwise (for not taking them off the car before painting).

Hopefully you like it. You have no choice but to lol. It didn't look bad at all on the red car that someone posted.

Good luck with the middle.

i dont' think so. i mean to each their own on how they want to do things. i think it would have been easier to remove them, but if someone wants to spend the time to tape and plastic bag the area (sorry, couldn't resist) so be it. who am i to make fun the way someone does something. hell, half the stuff i do isn't probably done the right way.

Heck ya. I had fun taping it and learned a lot too. To each their own. All that matters is the end product and I love it.
