I hear good things about these.

D2S: Morimoto 5Five (50w) - HID Bulbs from The Retrofit Source Inc

There's other bulbs too on that site if interested.

Hope that helps

But can we drop in 50w bulbs if we have 35w stock ballast?

There's really not much debate on which ones brighter. All's the same, except whichever last longer.
$$$$$$ doesn't mean its the best. (remember)...

I suppose you COULD, but no....you should get the wire extension/adapter that's a larger gague to dissipate heat better.

The link I provided was for the 55w bulbs, but they do have the 35w ones as well.

+1 ^^^

I just got mine installed today. Morimotos 6000K from TRS. Great color. I'm just breaking them in right now, so they're rather dim. But they seem nice so far.

Only thing was that during the install, while removing and putting back the clips that hold the HID bulbs in place, I moved the housing a little, and now my AFS light is flashing. When I first turn the car on, I turn the wheel to the right and the right headlight follows normally (the left one doesn't move by default unless you go above a certain speed, I think 15 mph or something like that), but after driving for a little while, the AFS light starts blinking and the system doesn't work anymore. I'll have to check on them tomorrow I think. Hope I didn't break anything...

But other than that, Morimotos seem like a good choice for the price. I was about to get MTECs, but read Morimotos are a little better and better color even though being cheaper than MTECs. I've had an MTEC HID kit in my Camry for at least 5 years, and they still look great.

No you don't need any extension or adapter..... when it comes to HID bulbs your ballasts determine how many watts you put out. Your stock ballasts are 35w so that's all any bulb will put out. A true 50w bulb like a Philips DL50 shouldn't be run at 35 watts, you just wear it out faster and don't get anymore light out of the bulb.

If you want 50 or 55w you need to change your ballasts.

To the 6K question, all 6K bulbs will put out less lumens than your stock 4300K bulbs. The highest in K you can go and still retain the lumens is with the 5K Osram 66240 CBI. It will put out a pure white light and have the same lumens as your stock 4300K bulbs.

6K and higher are only good for show not driving and when you buy a cheap 6 or 8K bulbs made in China the lumens are way less than your stock bulbs and they don't last a thrid as long as a good OEM bulb.

You shouldn't have any kind of break-in period beyond 5 minutes or so.

We have very good drop-in replacements. We've sold around 800 pairs in the past year to G and Z customers with great results. I personally have the 6000K in my 09 G. Feel free to call me 314-205-3033 or email contact@diodedynamics.com if you have any questions.

Impossible.......you may think they are wider but it just can't happen. BTW there's no such thing as a DOT approved 6K bulb. There's a good reason for it, you can't see as far with them due to less lumens. The color will trick your eyes into thinking you can see better but you can't see objects as far into the distance as you could with your stock bulbs.

I'll never understand why anyone would would remove a very good quaility German made bulb and replace it with what is an $8 bulb made in China with way worse performance that won't last a third as long. Not to mention the UV rays they put out that can destroy your projector bowls.

Well most people do it for looks. I actually like the stock color and not gonna upgrade cause the stock color goes perfect with my Iron man LED's. Most do it for looks.
