Opinions on headlight mod

I'm planning on painting my headlight bezels and possibly the shrouds (and removing the black overlays for those familiar w/ my G). It's an 09 OB and I'll probably be going w/ black bezels and maybe leaving the outer ring on the low beam shroud and the high beam shroud chrome or maybe paint them a dark gray, still uncertain. I'm planning on keeping this car for several more years and was wondering what you guys think about these LED ORB rings around the low beam shroud. They look pretty cool but do you think the LED thing is getting played out and may look a bit dated in a couple years (or already dated)? Here's a thread w/ pics for reference. Also if there's anyone that has these or are familiar w/ them, are they pretty reliable and have good longevity? It would really be a bummer to have to crack the lights open again. Thanks for opinions & any specific info you can provide.

I agree. It's not a bmw, so no halo. It's not an Audi either, so I'm against LED in general unless it's an Audi. I know it's the direction all car manufactures are going towards, but I still feel they are playing catch up. Even when aftermarket LED manufacturers market their product, it is often referred to as "Audi style LED".

Thanks for the opinions guys, it does seem like the LED thing has run its' course, especially now that you see them on Kias That's $150 I'll have to spend on something else. Besides, that would really suck to have one of those rings burn out and have to pull the bumper crack the lights and re-install

Maybe some fog lights for my journey bumper~anyone have a good source for these??

Diode Dynamics for Fogs?
Got mine from there, haven't installed them yet though, but they SHOULD install/work fine

Looks like a great source for HID setups. I'm really hoping to find some fogs I can mount in the lower bumper area (like the current G fog lights) and use the current fog light socket for DRLs. Something like the Hella Micro DEs.
Would like to know how yours turn out though, they sound like a good upgrade for sure.
