Footrest/Pedal Replacement

My footrest (dead pedal under parking brake) has several chucks missing out of it.

I bought a replacement from infinitipartsusa.com thinking it was a aluminum version but what I got was just a black plastic/rubber replacement (genuine Infiniti P/N: 67840-1NFOA).

Anyways, I'm trying to replace it and it looks like the tabs push into clips on the bottom side. I tried to pry off the existing but it's not budging.

Question is, has anyone seen the underside of the carpet to see how the pedal is held on (i.e. while installing new illuminated kick plates)? I'm wondering if the clips are built into the carpet or if they'll fall off/down when I pry the pedal off.

Any help would be appreciated. Also, does anyone know the P/Ns for the aluminum pedals? I'm guessing they are usually only sold to the Sport VINs but it looks like infinitipartsusa will sell any part but they won't take returns if you don't provide your VIN.

The aluminum pedals would be nice! Curious about this one too. Following this thread for updates.

So I decided to just pull it apart until I could see how exactly it was attached. Looks much better.

Are there any other options for the foot rest? Aluminum or something?

Anyone try something like these?

I had similar sets from AC Schnitzer for my e46 BMW which looked very nice. Wondering if any non-sport people opted for something aftermarket? If so, please post pics!

I installed the alum sport pedals on my awd sedan-got the brake+accel from the dealer but was told by 2 dealers i had to buy the whole carpet to get the dead pedal-was lucky to find a member that was parting out an entire car so i got the dead pedal from a coupe which is a bit longer than the sedan.if someone gets a pn for the sedan dead pedal post it up!
