Taking delivery of my G37

So I'm taking delivery of my 08 G37 this weekend and am interested in what can be done to it. I see a lot of people on here upgrading the headlights, but I'm not sure why. I thought it comes with HID's by default. What is the benifit of upgrading. Xenons better than HID's? Are the headlights self leveling?

Also, a side question. I want to replace the dome light but cannot convince myself that anything in this package actually has the dome light.

I assume map light is the visor. Can anyone direct me to the dome light on this site, or another site?

Btw, I'm phyced to join the G37 club

Xenon = HID. People usually upgrade the headlights to a higher kelvin temperature HID bulb, which will give you a whiter, bluer, color. Depending on the color temperature, some may even be purple. 5000k or 6000k is popular without decreasing too much light output. Stock is 4300k. 6000k has that blueish tint. 10,000k will look purple. The higher color temperature you go, the less usable light you get.

The interior LED kit you are looking at includes 4 bulbs. 2 for the map lights, and 2 on the lower side of your doors. The visors are not the map lights. Those are separate vanity lights.

I didn't have good luck with iJDMtoy .... most folks use V-LED and have been very happy with them.

Why not get the car first, then decide what you don't like about it and customize

For me, reducing body roll and understeer (yes, in the S version), was something I had to attend to first. I may upgrade the fog lights to HID. Not to match the headlights but to make them practical.

I really dont see the benefit of upgrading the xenon bulbs to a higher temperature, if anything its more on the lens itself that gives the color.

BTW is it just me but the 2012 G37X have a tint of yellow in the projector? I had a courtesy vehicle from the dealership and there is a slight hint of yellow in it.
