one of my headlights wont come on

hi guys i need some help asap as the car is my mothers daily driver. its an 04 g35 coupe that has had the healights converted by the previous owner to 06 lights. just last night one of the lights no longer turns on so the one thing i have done so far is swapped the bulbs from left to right and right to left. well now the light that wasnt turning on comes on, and the one that was working now doesnt since i have switched side. my question is what would be the most likely cause of this problem. ive gone back over and made sure al the connections where tight and plugged correctly. any help is apreciated.

Wow. You have a headlight that didn't work. So you swapped bulbs from side to side. Then the one that was out now works and the other one doesn't.

I'm going to go out on a limb and take a wild guess and say that maybe the bulb is bad.

how would the bulb be bad if everytime i swich the bulb from the non working side to the working side it magically turns on. Both bulbs work on the side that did not go out last night

Read what you said earlier:

I think you meant to say: swapped the bulbs from left to right and right to left. well now the bulb that wasnt turning on comes on, and the one that was working now doesnt since i have switched side.

In that case, it could be a blown fuse, bad ballast, shorted wire.

It should be the ballast. You can swap the ballast between the good light and the bad.

is swapping the ballast hard to do while the lights are still on the car?
