Angry Windows will not automatically roll up

Ok, so my battery died today somehow (I am still working that issue) BUT not that the car is running again, the windows will not go up automatically. They go down with no problem when I press down through the detents but willl only go up if I hold the switch the whole time. Any suggestions? 09 7AT coup-S

You have to do a window reset

You will need to reset your windows since your battery has been disconnected. To perform a window reset:

1. Push the ignition switch to the ON position.
2. Close the door.
3. Open the window more than halfway by operating the power window switch.
4. Pull the power window switch and hold it to close the window, and then hold the switch more than 3 seconds after the window is
closed completely.
5. Release the power window switch. Operate the window by the automatic function to confirm the initialization is complete.
6. Perform steps 2 through 5 above for other windows.

That was taken from Black Betty's grounding wire DIY.

Your dead battery reset your auto-up/down feature. Here's how you can program it again. (Although am sure this has been discussed and documented before)
1. Turn on your ignition.
2. Hold down the switch (not all the way down) until the complete window rolls down. Don't leave the switch yet.
3. Roll up the window completely without clicking the switch all the way through (Auto function).
4. Once up, Hold your switch in the Auto position (one more click) for about 4-5 secs.
5. Test if your auto function is back.
This should work as it is standard procedure on all Nissan/Infiniti cars including my old G35 and Altima.
Good luck !!

I charged my battery yesterday and hooked it back up. Trying to following the window reset instructions in the manual but it did not work.

Followed this procedure above and was fixed within a minute for both windows. Thank you, saved me a visit to dealer.

Glad we could help. The reset procedure in the manual is the same thing though.

I would always check here first before taking your car to the stealership...this forum has too much information for people to get ripped off at the stealer.
