Try Plasti-Dip. Check out how-to's and also order it from: DYC Home - Plasti Dip For Your Car - Resources & More at DipYourCar.com NEW Glossifier

I'd suggest that if you do paint it yourself that you sand it. The paint will not adhere properly otherwise. But you have to be careful to sand it lightly. I painted my grille twice using rattle cans and didn't like the final result. It looked great each time but got chipped very easily. Then I had it done professinally by a body shop and it only has one small chip in it months later.

homedepot has plasti dip for $6 bucks fyi. OP if you feel you want to permanently keep the color of the grille to the color of your choice then you should have it professionally done. It should be about $140-$200 range. If you’re like me and try to do what you can with your whip to gain experience and save money on labor then you can try the plasti dip with the new glossifier version. I’ll have to grab a can of plasti dip glossifier and black out my rear chrome emblem and trunk lid as well, but we still have cold weather in NY :0(

i picked up the supplies in this thread today to do my grille. about half way down the first page there's some pretty good instructions on what he used and the process he did.
all the supplies i picked up (including a can of red for the fuji's) came to just under $25.
good luck
