2012 G37 Poor design feature *center seat armrest*
Has anyone had trouble with this? The center seat armrest opens straight back virtually making it impossible to reach in with the arm nearest to the armrest. You literally have to reach over with your other arm to gain access to whatever contents you have stored inside of the compartment. I can't imagine how someone did not see this when they designed the car. Instead of opening straight back, it should open sideways and there would be easy access to the contents inside the compartment.
I mention this in hopes that designers for Infiniti read these message boards and implement changes with their upcoming models.

I know what you mean but you eventually get used to it and it's not much of a problem. I guess ease of access would also depend on your seat location, fore and aft. If you are short it would be worse.
I suppose the designers expected that drivers wouldn't want in there while they're driving.

Cupholders are my Gripe with the G. The worst i have ever experiened in any car. Can't even put 2 coffees in the holders at the same time. Very annoying.

My z had no cupholders and yes the 6mt has a small armrest storage, but I gladly give it up for the clutch also if you ever try an a4's you wont complain as much considering you have to raise the arm rest to engage the e-brake, no matter how bad you think it is there is always worse

How'd you remove it? I lost my key/card behind there this morning and can't figure out how to take either the divider piece or the whole cup holder so I can get to that narrow area between the cupholder and the armrest.
