Question about amber strip...

I know the amber side strip is required by law in the USA, but I don't think it's required in other countries. Other countries just have a clear side strip. Did i hear this wrong or Am I correct on this? If so, how do I get ahold of a clear one???? Thanks!

you can't order individual internal headlight parts............unless you get lucky and run across a JDM headlight for sale.

+1. I'm looking for the clear side strip as well!!!!! Please let me know if you find one.

Its illegal in Ontario, Canada but people still do it here. I guess cops dont really see it worth their time pulling you over for just that.

I still find it hard to understand why some of you are so anxious to chance problems with the cops with another illegal mod that doesn’t do much to enhance the car’s appearance anyway.

There are no commercially built clear side strips available for the G37 headlights.

I think it does make a difference in appearance. If I'm going to mod it, might as well try to make it look the best I can. I have 100 % confidence that I won't get stopped for my "amber strip". I have very dark tint on the side and 40% on the windshield. If I get a ticket, it's going to be back on the next day

I'm thinking of getting the side pieces chromed. How would it look if they were removed? Like @$$?

Both of those ideas would look exactly like you described IMO. Leave it alone or paint it and be done with it. You will not get any unwanted attention or citation for painting it. If you draw attention to it by chroming it or removing it you just might.

we get our cars without the light or the amber strips from 2009+, we got amber strips on 2008 model only but again they are all without lights in them only reflectors.
If its annoying you that much, just remove the light, open the headlights and paint the stripes

I don’t know where you live, but front amber side lights have been a requirement in the U.S. since 1970.

If his comes equipped without them, I'm going to guess that he lives outside of North Anerica.

I've never heard of anyone receiving a citation or even so much as a warning for it. I can't say that it hasn't ever happened, but it's not been reported on this forum. It's not something that I've ever seen enforced on passenger vehicles.

Mods like no amberstrip or front plate are like never cited unless you get pulled over for something else (Speeding, too dark tint, running a light). OR if you park at a parking meter and the officer checking the meters notice.
