Clip-on front plates?

So I got my first $53 ticket for not displaying a front license plate from the City of Santa Monica. This happens when you park at a meter.

I seriously don't want a permanent front plate. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on a clip-on device for the front plate so you clip the plate on when you park on a public street and pull it off before you drive away.

It wouldn't have to hold too tight since it's only for parking purposes.

They sell magnetic license plate holder. You would need to attach a little piece of steel to your bumper though. You can also use wire/cable ties and cut them off every time.

There's a kit sold for the Corvette, which ought to fit the G. It has a small plate that attaches with double sided tape onto the underside of the bumper with two threaded posts. To that you attach the license plate bracket (and license plate) with two wing nuts. It's fairly quick to attach and remove the plate and is more secure than a magnetic mount. When the license plate is off, you really can't see the small mount.

I've been using it for two years, leaving the front plate on 99% of the time, and haven't had any problems.

You can find it if you do a search on the Corvette forum, or PM me.
