Question Best LED kit

I just bought a 2010 g37x sedan yesterday and I want to change the interior and licenses plate lights to LEDs. What is the best, most reliable brand? Do they all have a faint glow when they are off? Thanks

Many of us here use V-LED's with great success ... I have them for all my LED swap out's on several cars and not a single problem. My dome (aka map) likes have no visable glow.

The faint glow is based on the dimmer function in your specific vehicle- some do it, some don't, based on how well it is grounded. The LEDs can sometimes light up very dimly due to the tiny amount of power in the system after the dimmer has dimmed the bulbs all the way down.

I'm interested in this kit too, but I'm not sure about the brightness compared to stock. Is it brighter than stock? I don't know whether to get Stage 2 or 3, lol?

All kits give you the nice white LED look (or the color of your choice)

Stage 1 is slightly less bright than stock. Stage 2 is slightly brighter than stock. And Stage 3 is very bright!

+1 on Diode Dynamics. I purchased the Stage 2 kit and am very happy. Noticeably brighter than stock (my 2 year old says 'too bright' from the back seat) and is a nice color upgrade.

dumb question, but how long do these V-LEDS or Diode Dynamics led's usually last? Asking because I had some (unknown ebay brand i think) for my license plates and interior dome lights on my previous car, and they only lasted a short while before they started "flickering" like crazy and then just stopped working and eventually had to be replaced back to stock...

I have bought from both vleds and diode. I bought the vleds first but wanted to try diode bc of the good price. But to me, the vleds are a lot better quality than diode.

What makes the vleds better? I'm asking because I'm looking to do an led swap too and want to get the best quality. I was tempted by DD because of the price and the easy package.

Hmmm... we've tried cheaper LEDs before, but they are not as good. Our manufacturer is more expensive than many others, but the quality of the bulbs are second to none. Strong solder joints, high-quality 3-chip LEDs, good quality control right out of the factory. I'd be interested to know what makes you think one is better! 99% of the time if there are any issues with any LEDs, it's just getting a good connection in the socket.

What makes the LED's over the license plate flicker? Trolling the forum but no one seems to know the answer...

Is it a voltage issue? Don't all LEDs have a resister somewhere?

Is it because the circuits have no coating - therefore influenced by moisture? Do they need something like parylene coating or conformal coating?

Is it a Bad solder job, underrated part?

Is it simply caused by too much vibration?

Is it based on where it's made? China vs. Japan...

Anyone know? Have tests prooved anything? Just seems hit or miss when it comes to these LED's...
