Broken fog lens on '11 G37

As if the soft paint weren't enough of an issue, now I have a cracked fog light lens. I can't believe they're made out of plain glass instead of the impact resistant plastic they use over the headlights.

Anyway:

1. What section of the FSM will I find the R&R procedure in? It's not in EXT, and I don't see a section specific to the lights.

2. Who are the good vendors to check out for this? It appears that you have to buy the whole assembly, can't get just a lens.

I'll definitely be doing HeadlightArmor over them when I get this replaced.

infinitipartsusa.com is a great place to get oem parts for significantly cheaper than the dealer

While you have things apart you might want to consider doing an hid switch also to color match with your headlights.

I dont understnd, it's considered part of defect from Infiniti, cant you just take it to the dealer and have them replaced for you?

Thanks for the answers, jorwick and rks. I'll probably only do the one, so no HID, but HeadlightArmor has a "HID blue" color, so I may do that.

I'll ask the dealer about warranty replacement, but you can see the rock hole in it, so I'm thinking they won't.

The housing is seperate from the bulb harness and I would assume you can get them seperately. The hid upgrade is a slim ballast and the bulb so you can do that anytime if you want just a good time with the front bumper off and if your other bulb is broken.

New 2011 G37XS owner here. There is an economical way to protect the fog lens. Go to Target and get this:

Target:IDedsign® Suction Caddy - S

You get 4 suction cups.
Remove the suction cups from the clear plastic, put them over the lens.
They have the same diameter as our fogs and hardly noticeable when they are on.
I used the same system for my 2001 MX5 fogs for over 10 years.
They should help to prevent future damages.

Let me know if pics are needed.

Creative solution, Slickster.

I just read the bumper r&r procedure. Sheesh! That plus the ~$130 cost of the assembly may drive me to just putting the dark smoke HeadlightArmor covers on them to hide the damaged lens. You can buy the bezel for about $20, but the lens comes only as part of the whole light assembly.

But I'll check to be sure the dealer won't cover it. I'm a repeat customer, so maybe....

Don't have any experience with these, but might worth a try. Small investment for something that'll cost u $100+ to replace.

Thanks. The second link is the HeadlightArmor item I was speaking of. If the dealer won't cover it, that's probably what I'll do. The dark smoke will make the fogs too dark to be useful, but will probably hide the damage. I'm an old guy and don't drive much at night anyway.
