Speaking from experience, DO NOT use 1. Gasoline or 2. Laquer thinner or any kind of thinner. Rubbing compound is enough

Like most people said, rubbing compound, polish then wax by hand, if it's still there, do it again, if still there after that give it an hour or two then do it again, if all that fails which it really shouldn't then you'll have to use a buffer but personally I recently took off the back emblem from my 08 coupe and I only had to do the process once. The ghosting appearance from the emblem was really visible too. Good luck this is definitely the easy part
