Fog Light bulb swap diy?

Hey alls,

I just bought some yellow foglight bulbs for my 2008 G37S coupe; these to be exact: V-HIDS XENON HEADLIGHT BULBS H1 3000K GOLDEN YELLOW

So I just got them and there's a lot of wires.. more than I was expecting. I checked the DIY section but didn't see anything specific for just changing the fog lights and all the wires. Has anyone done this? Seems to be alot of plugs and such. I'll be messing with it once back from vacation. Or are these bulbs just replacements for HID's with a ballast.. I don't have that. Any help is appreciated! Thanx!

not exactly, there seems to be at least 4 wires coming out the back with various plugs, plus a ground wire. It seems as if all this stuff connects to an HID ballast, but I've never had one. Maybe I got the wrong thing.

i'm guessing this is what you got

in that picture, you can pretty much cut that rubber boot away and toss it in the garbage. The bulbs goes into your fog housing and the blue and red wires which are attached to the bulbs will connect to your ballasts (which i think you have mentioned that you did not purchase)....the ballast then connects to your factory h1 harness...

those rubber boots are useful to keep moister out, if he drills the rear cap to fit the lines through. unless he splices them and fits them through that way!

Do you actually have fogs in the lower vents, or is it for the fog in our headlight?

thanx for all the replies.. I was on vacation the last week in the keys.. anywho, the pic posted above is what I got, and you are correct, I had no ballast for them. They've already been returned to V-LED's.

I was under the impression when I bought them it was just the bulb. I have blue LED's for the fog (which is in the headlight, not in bumper) which I can put back in.. but the cops don't like those!

So i was trying to put in the hid kit to the fogs in the headlights and when i took the bulb out, seem like the ground wire was still attached to the headlight.. and i wasnt sure exactly how to put the bulb in.. Has anybody put hid in the fogs yet and have a diy?
