I had handbrake up. Its not in settings. Read entire manual - the "hold set button for 10 secs to enable" doesnt work.

Others have explained why it is disabled on the 6MT. I want to know if there is a trick to enable. Not looking for alternate solutions. Thanks!
okay lol, now I remember what happened.

I got my car second hand, so it was programmed for the previous (and I guess bigger) driver. So every time I opened the door, it would slide backwards too accommodate the big man. I would then move it foward manually. thats why I thought my car had it.

so yea, my mistake, the "easy exit" feature doesnt exist for the manual cars, but is definitely present on my co-workers automatic g37 sedan and my previous autotragic first gen. even says so in the owners manual. You can disable all this stuff by holding the set button for 10 seconds with car off (not 6mt)

really gay I guess

It's simple, for second gen G sedans.
I just traded in my Auto trans 07 G35x which HAS the auto seat/steering exit feature. You can have it on or off by setting it via the comfort/convenience settings. When it's enabled and you turn off the car and open the door, the steering wheel goes up and the drivers seat slides back...all the way.
The 6MT sedan I just purchased does NOT have this feature.

Automatics and MT's have the 2 occupant memory settings. A totally different thing.

^ thats exactly true, Soliditude is wrong in saying that all Gs dont have this feature, 2nd gen auto sedans with premium and nav pkgs have it, i test drove 3 auto with premium when i was buying mine and all of them had the feature as soon as you open the door to enter or exit the seat goes back and steering goes up. There is a setting on the nav screen where you can turn on/off this feature. Im pretty sure its part of just the premium pkg rather than nav but i cant say for sure since all 3 had nav.

I had to place an order for my MT and just presumed it would have it but it didnt But even if it did the seat could not go back any further since its at its max already

The M-class sedans have this feature; my mom's Maxima has the feature, but our G's do not.

However, I've driven 5 different G cars, coupe and sedan, and have never come across the feature which moves your seat back and the steering wheel up after shutting down the car; we don't have it. Using the Seat Memory settings car replace that, but in a more annoying and uncomfortable way, really.
Read the owners manual. It's only for sedans and it's turned off from the factory. You have to turn it on yourself.

Tell your wife to put the car in park then press 2 before she turns the car off.

2011 Sedan - absolutely has it. I have NAV and can't think exactley where, but it is in the menu settings somewhere. The steering wheel and seat are even separate. I had both turned on so when you turned the car off, the seat slid all the way back and the steering wheel went up. Now, I only have the steering wheel go all the way up and not the seat because of the new car seat behind me.

People need to read through the thread and stop mixing things up. This is not talking about a the memory seat setting on number 2, it is a separate feature.

6mt

I know the automatic G37 has it. I have a 6MT, which otherwise would have the feature, but for the 6 speed. As another user commented - It is a safety issue with the clutch. However, pdx said that he talked to a tech and turned the feature on for his 6MT G37. He didnt explain how. I messaged him, no response. Anyone else out there know the trick?

Your welcome. You can't use the seat memory if the car is out of park or the ignition is off with the doors closed.

Is it wrong that I don't like this feature and have it turned off? Maybe I should give it another chance?

It just feels so weird getting into/out of the car with the seat all the way back and it doesn't seem any easier to me. I do have the steering wheel move up for entry exit, but I just prefer the seat being in my driving position.
