My 2008 G37s needs a HID ballast, but it requires whole headlight assy?

2nd update...
Picked the car up and now the outside air temp sensor is stuck at 68 degrees. Its 92 out so the a/c was not functioning right cause it thinks its cold out. I took it back and they called me out to service bay and showed me an oil leak from valve cover it looks like. Have no idea why sensor quit working after they changed whole headlight assy.
I just told them to keep the car and go over whole car and fix whatever you find that looks not right under warranty.

Ive never seen a valve cover leak on these cars before unless they have a lot of miles on them. Looks like its either been leaking since new or its a large leak that just started. No drips as it the seepage has attracted dirt onto it so far but its blown down from valve cover to forward belly plastic pan cover everything so I suspect a small leak for last couple years just making a mess.
My wife doesnt really like the interior comfort and ride of the car anyway, so I might just trade it in for something else on their lot once everything is fixed. I was okay a few times but 4 (now 5 tomorrow) separate days in the shop in the last month is excessive.

Got car back today and all is fixed. Changed valve cover gasket, outside temp sensor which shorted out with oil dripping onto connector and cleaned all the oil spray up under hood from top to bottom. Gotta love warranty work though as nothing out of my pocket for the fixes.
Been a interesting ordeal but the dealer was top notch in all their work and effort and making me happy.

Hello all,
After reading these forums, I decided to track down my problem. I have an 08 G37S witht the teck package. The passenger side headlight is out. The daytime running light as well as the HID. The HID has been out for a while now and the DRL only a few days. I checked the fuse today and they're all good which leads me to believe that it is the ballast, seems to be a commen problem. I plan to switch the drivers side ballast to check if it's the problem. Any other tips??
Thanks!

Might not be a bad idea to change your HID bulbs as well while your at it. A nice new pair of the Philips 4300K from retrofit source and you will have nice crisp headlights. Remember, when you change one bulb, its always recommended that you change the other as well so you have an even output/color and 4300K is the brightest no matter what others say, the rest of the temps are strictly cosmetic. As for the DRL, perhaps you can think about upgrading to LEDs? I left mine stock.
