New paint job

I would like your guys opinions on this matter. I'm looking for a white G37 sport, manual with Navi. I've looked 500miles from my location in VA and I havent found one in my price range(price range from $25k-$28k on an 2008 G37). But I did find a black manual navi very close to my location. I'm thinking of buying it then have it painted white as soon as I get it.

My question is has anybody done a paint swap on their G37? I was even thinking about leaving the engine bay black so the labor guys wouldnt have to take the engine out to paint the bay white, that would save me money also. Any suggestions as to what I should do would be great.

I would just keep looking if I were you. I just don't trust a whole repainting of a car unless it has to be done.

I wouldn't worry about it turning out well if you went to a reputable shop, but the cost definitely wouldn't be worth it. Even if you find a car that's 3,000 miles away, it'll be probably 20% of the cost to have the car shipped (~$800) as opposed to having it painted by a reputable shop (~$5000). Just keep searching for what you want, it'll show up.

yeah keep waiting for the car you want. repainting a car from black to white wont look good. It wont look as bad as red or blue when you open the hood, doors, trunk, but you will always know its there. Patience my friend.

Oh and used car prices are sky high right now. Might help to wait a few months anyways.

White is the fastest color. haha

Prices are high because of the economy. People who would usually buy a new car are buying used.

I had the same thing happen when looking for my G37x in Obs. Several of the Infiniti dealers I spoke with mentioned that the price point for used G37s are inflated right now due to the shortage from Japan. The dealers were expecting to receive new shipments sometime around September, but until then, they're not as willing to drop the prices on their used inventory. Just keep waiting, the right one will come along and be ready to jump when it does.
